Using Practice Questions

Practice questions are the core of your NBCOT® preparation. OT Bestie offers over 1,000 questions with detailed rationales. Here's how to make the most of them.

Question Types

OT Bestie offers two main question formats that mirror the actual NBCOT® exam:

• Multiple Choice - Standard single-answer questions with four options
• Scenario Sets - Multi-part questions based on clinical scenarios with 3-5 related questions

Practice Modes

Adaptive Mode

Let our AI select questions based on your performance. The algorithm prioritizes areas where you're struggling while reinforcing your strengths. Best for efficient, targeted improvement.

Random Mode

Questions are selected randomly across all available content. This simulates actual exam conditions where you don't know what's coming next.

Manual Mode

Choose specific domains, tasks, and knowledge areas to focus on. Perfect when you want to drill down on a particular topic or prepare for a specific domain.

Using Filters

In Manual mode, click the filter button to access advanced options:

1. Select Question Type

   Choose Multiple Choice, Scenario Sets, or Mixed.

2. Choose a Domain

   Select from the NBCOT® exam domains shown with their percentage weights.

3. Select a Task

   Within each domain, choose specific tasks to focus on.

4. Pick Knowledge Areas

   Further narrow down by selecting specific knowledge areas.

Tracking Your Stats

The stats bar at the top shows your current session performance:

• Attempted - Total questions answered in this session
• Correct - Number of questions answered correctly
• Accuracy - Your percentage score with a visual progress ring

Click "Reset stats" to start fresh. Your overall progress is still saved to your account.

Using the AI Tutor

Click "Ask AI Tutor" at the top of any question to get additional help:

• Ask for clarification on concepts
• Request alternative explanations
• Explore related topics
• Get memory tips and mnemonics
